Each summer I set a goal to read all of the Nutmeg nominees, but only read about five. This year, I read all but two!

I read 23 of the 25 nominees, which includes all of the Elementary nominees. There is still a week left so I may push myself to finish those last two.

For Valentine's Day we shared our love of reading and books by decorating hearts with book titles, authors names, series, and genres.

Then we hung the open hearts and made a fancy decoration. Anyone who stopped by could open the hearts and see what we love about books!

Back by popular demand! The kids look forward to the giant turkeys each Thanksgiving. The turkeys spell out "We Give Thanks For Great Books" and each grade level gets a turkey. 

The students pick a feather and can write anything that shows thanks for books and literacy....
