I found a book trailer for The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate. We have read the non-fiction picture book and many kids have read the fiction chapter book companion.

For Valentine's Day we shared our love of reading and books by decorating hearts with book titles, authors names, series, and genres.

Then we hung the open hearts and made a fancy decoration. Anyone who stopped by could open the hearts and see what we love about books!

Even though Dr. Seuss passed away in 1991, an unfinished book of his was found and released in July of 2015.

Back by popular demand! The kids look forward to the giant turkeys each Thanksgiving. The turkeys spell out "We Give Thanks For Great Books" and each grade level gets a turkey. 

The students pick a feather and can write anything that shows thanks for books and literacy....
